Engagement & Compensation
Clear terms before work begins.
Rightful Financial reviews each potential matter based on the asset type, jurisdiction, ownership history, documentation requirements, complexity, and applicable law.
No single fee structure applies to every matter. Scope, compensation, responsibilities, and applicable terms are established in writing before services begin.
How Engagement Terms Are Established
Before Rightful Financial accepts a matter, we evaluate:
-
the type of asset or recovery opportunity;
-
the applicable jurisdiction;
-
the ownership and entity history;
-
documentation and authority requirements;
-
deadlines or procedural restrictions;
-
the expected research and administrative workload; and
-
whether the matter is appropriate for Rightful Financial to handle.
A preliminary review does not guarantee acceptance, entitlement, or recovery.
Possible Compensation Structures
Depending on the matter and where permitted, an engagement may use one of several structures.
Success-Based Compensation
Certain qualifying recovery matters may use compensation tied to a successful recovery.
Applicable law may impose fee caps, contract requirements, waiting periods, assignment restrictions, disclosure requirements, or other limitations. Rightful Financial applies the requirements specific to the jurisdiction and asset type before accepting the engagement.
Fixed or Project-Based Fees
Some corporate-history, ownership, documentation, or research matters may be better suited to a defined project fee.
This may apply where a company wants substantial historical research performed regardless of whether a specific asset ultimately results in recovery.
Research or Documentation Fees
Complex matters involving multiple entities, former subsidiaries, predecessor companies, property portfolios, land holdings, ownership changes, or incomplete records may require a separately defined research or documentation scope.
Any such fee is established in writing before work begins.
Periodic Review
For suitable engagements, Rightful Financial may periodically review an agreed set of current and historical entities or properties for newly reported potential assets.
Frequency, scope, compensation, and availability depend on the jurisdiction, asset type, and written engagement.
Corporate & Complex Matters
Corporate recovery often involves more than locating a record.
A matter may require research into:
-
current and former LLCs;
-
corporations and subsidiaries;
-
predecessor or successor businesses;
-
acquisitions and mergers;
-
dissolved entities;
-
property-holding companies;
-
commercial property or land portfolios;
-
prior legal names and addresses;
-
ownership transfers; and
-
supporting corporate or transaction records.
Where substantial research is required, Rightful Financial may define the research component separately from the recovery component.
This is an important section because it makes clear why a corporate engagement may not look like a simple consumer contingency claim.
Professional Introductions
Real estate professionals, attorneys, CPAs, title and escrow professionals, property managers, business brokers, lenders, and other professionals may introduce clients to Rightful Financial.
An introduction does not automatically create a compensation arrangement.
Any payment or compensation involving another professional must be separately permitted under:
-
applicable law;
-
licensing rules;
-
ethical and professional standards;
-
employer or brokerage policies; and
-
the specific jurisdiction and transaction involved.
Rightful Financial may accept an introduction without any referral-fee arrangement.
I would keep that last sentence. It makes the model much cleaner.
Does the Professional Pay Rightful Financial?
Generally, an introducing professional is not automatically responsible for the client's recovery fees.
Rightful Financial normally establishes its service relationship directly with the client or business whose potential asset is being reviewed, unless a different written arrangement is specifically agreed upon.
An introduction alone does not make the professional a client, guarantor, joint venturer, or party to the recovery engagement.
That is worth stating explicitly.
Does Rightful Financial Pay Referral Fees?
Referral Compensation
Rightful Financial does not use a universal referral-fee schedule.
Any referral, marketing, or professional compensation arrangement must be separately reviewed for the profession, jurisdiction, asset type, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Some professions and transactions may restrict or prohibit certain forms of referral compensation.
Rightful Financial may therefore use a no-compensation introduction model where appropriate.
Do not publish percentages here.
Important Fee Disclosure
Fees and engagement structures vary by jurisdiction and matter.
A fee arrangement that is permitted for one asset type or state may be restricted, capped, or prohibited for another.
Rightful Financial does not apply one universal compensation structure across all matters.
Have a Matter to Discuss?
Tell us about the company, property, transaction, entity history, or potential asset involved.
We can assess whether the matter appears appropriate for preliminary review and explain the engagement structure that may apply before any services begin.
Please do not submit Social Security numbers, banking credentials, complete financial-account information, or other unnecessary sensitive information through the initial website form.
